Informal Educators

In addition to K-12 and university educators, other professionals in our society fulfill an educational role in providing their clients with important learning opportunities. The informal educator who works in museums, community organizations, after school, and summer programs is an example of such professionals that the NASA EPDC is committed to serving. Many of the NASA assets, resources, and educator professional development opportunities can be helpful to informal educators and are offered free of charge. Specifically, EPDC provides NASA-related professional development, support services and resources to both formal and informal educators to enhance the educational services delivered by their organizations. EPDC specialists located at each of the 10 NASA Centers work closely with the informal educators in their communities and beyond so that NASA can support learning opportunities for citizens of all ages in a wide variety of both formal and informal settings.
